J.D., San Rafael 5/18/08 What a wonderful spot. We loved our retreat from daily life. The bird and cow noises you had imported gave this place a particularly rural effect. Of course, we had the best spring weather, 75 degrees here, 95 degrees in Central Marin. Sun and surf and great food and awesome hikes. We rediscovered West Marin. K.N.,San Anselmo 5/26/08 We had a wonderful week at Point Reyes. It is one of our favorite places but it takes over an hour to get here so day trips involve a lot of driving as well as planning to avoid traffic. So it was so wonderful to wake up here each morning with the whole day ahead of us. Hiking along the Rift Trail at the Visitor Center we saw a huge snake in the road. Then a coyote leaped across the trail a few minutes later. Saw a fast moving herd of Fallow deer as well, which are easy to spot since half of them are white. Along Estero Trail we saw 7-8 egret nests up in the trees. At the light house we saw a pair of Peregine Falcons flying high and fancy. Also saw their new fledging, crying pathetically as mom and dad soared. Baby could fly but was very unhappy. Oysters were great barbequed and the various cheeses were fun to try. Loved all the amenities, especially the variety of DVDs. My husband knows why the bike ride called "The Wall" is appropriate. We had a wonderful week!
